I am waiting for my baby to enter this world. I stumbled across an anklet I had never worn before with little elephant and sun charms. It instantly caught my attention we choose animal names for all of the children and this new baby is out baby elephant as they are strong and this baby has survived so much already. The sun charm encouraged me to look up the meaning of the sun card tarot card. When I began reading I didn’t get far before I discovered why the card had been calling me. One thing it signifies is the birth of a new child.

I have been wanting to start a series on each of the tarot cards one by one. So when I couldn’t get the idea of writing about the sun tarot card out of my head I decided it was best to dive right in. So the first card on our list will be The Sun. For this lesson, I suggest you grab a notebook so you can begin to take notes and build your own Tarot Journal. If you would like you can print my free tarot journal page.

Take a moment to draw your own The Sun tarot card. You can use cards from other decks as inspiration or just use your imagination and go with the flow. Trust your gut on this one and feel the meaning behind your art.

The sun is the 19th card in the Major Arcana of the tarot deck. The sun tarot card is truly the most positive card in the tarot deck. Often depicted with two children playing or a young boy riding a horse this cart is joyful, light, and brings the promise of good fortune. Sometimes this card is depicted as a woman in a state of joy or peace. The prominent part of this card is, of course, a big bright shining sun. The sun card represents the source of all life on earth.

Still waiting on baby. Was looming through my jewelry and noticed a little anklet with an elephant (the animal we picked for this baby) and a sun that was still in it’s package. Something made me think of #tarot and I realized that the sun card represents the birth of a child. Perhaps a little reminder that though baby is taking its sweet time they will come soon. I love little signs in life. . . . . . #witchythings #sun #elephant #mamawitch #pregnatwitch

Reverse meaning of The Sun

When The Sun shows up reversed it is telling you that you are being affected by worry. A signal to relax and take a step back and reevaluate things. You still have success on the horizon but it may take a little more time and effort than you had envisioned.

Pulling The Sun reversed can represent your struggling to see the positive in life. A warning that you yourself are the one blocking blessings coming your way. The path ahead may be clouded from your vision making it difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Sometimes the sun shows up in reverse as a warning that you are too optimistic, controlled by an inflated ego or out of touch with the world or your own situation. This can be a good chance for you to take a step back and take a fresh look at the situation ahead of you.

The Sun is NEVER a negative card. This card represents heat, and light, healing, protection, and growth. This card symbolizes abundance coming your way and in reverse is just a signal of what you must consider to bring that wealth your way.

Moves to make after pulling The Sun tarot card

Set your mind on the positive coming your way. You have much to look forward to. Prepare for abundance coming your way and clear stressors that can block blessings coming your way. Now is the time to share your abundance with others putting positive karma out into the world.
